Best Friend Badge
Snapchat recently introduced a new feature called the Snapchat Planets, which is available to Snapchat Plus members. This feature has already been introduced in 25 countries such as America, France, Canada and India etc.
As you may have learned about the solar system in your childhood science books, how all the planets revolve around the Sun. Similarly, this Snapchat’s feature works.
In this article, we will see what are Snapchat Planets, their meanings, order, and at the end of this article, I have provided a section of FAQs. If you don’t have time to read the entire article, you can gain basic information by reading those FAQs. If you have the time, I encourage you to continue reading the article to fully understand this great feature on Snapchat Plus.
What is the Snapchat Planets System?
It is also called Friend Solar System. Basically, this System tells you who your closest friend is based on your friendship level.
If you’re a Snapchat Plus user, you’ll be the Sun in the solar system, and your top 8 closest friends will be the planets revolving around you. The person with whom you have the most streaks will be your closest friend.
Likewise, the person with whom you have the fewest streaks will be your 8th closest friend. This same process applies to your other friends, and they will be assigned as your top 8 friends in the form of planets. This way, you’ll know who is close to you and who your closest friends are.
What is meaning of Snapchat Planets?
As I mentioned earlier, in the Snapchat planet system, each planet will be assigned to a different place, and these will be your top 8 best friends. Just like the real-world solar system, Snapchat’s solar system follows a similar order.
If you’re the Sun in the Snapchat planet system, the closest planet to you will be Mercury. Mercury represents the friend with whom you’ve shared the most snaps and chats. Similarly, Venus will be your 2nd closest friend, and this pattern continues for the other planets.
It must be noted that the position from friend to friend changes. For example, if you are Mercury in one friend’s profile, you can be Venus or Earth in another friend’s profile.
Note:
This is not a mathematical ranking because there is no list provided where you can see who has chatted or shared snaps with whom the most among your friends. It only shows your position, which only you can see, and none of your friends can see it.

Now, the second planet in your Snapchat solar system will be Venus. It represents your second best friend. This planet’s Bitmoji will be light brown, and there will be multiple colored hearts around it, such as pink, blue, and yellow.

Next in the Snapchat solar system, we have Earth as the third planet, representing your third best friend. Its Bitmoji will resemble the beautiful Earth, with green and blue colors. The hearts around it will be red, and there will be small yellow stars as well. There will also be one moon.

Mars will represent your fourth best friend and is also the fourth planet in the solar system, just as it is in reality. Its Bitmoji will appear red with blue and pink hearts around it, along with small yellow stars.

Neptune is the last and eighth planet in the Snapchat solar system. It represents your eighth best friend. This planet will be blue in color, and it will have a blue star.
How does Snapchat Planets system work?
First, you must subscribe to Snapchat Plus because only then can you see which planet is closest to you. These planets will represent your friendships and indicate who your best friend is. When you subscribe, you’ll be able to see the Best Friend or Friend badge with a golden ring on your friend’s profile.
Now, if you have a Best Friend badge, it means that both of you are in each other’s top eight closest best friends list. If you only see a Friend badge, it means you’re in their friend’s solar system, but they’re not in yours.
When you click on a badge, it will reveal your friendship position in their solar system. One fantastic feature is that these planets represent the closeness of your friendship. You can also make good friend badges into Custom Pins, just like your good friends are also by your side.
For example, if you are Venus in the Snapchat planet system, you are their second closest friend on Snapchat.
Example Explanation :
Now let’s assume that your name is Robert and your friend’s names are Michele, Lisa, and Henry. You have shared 3000 snaps with your friend Michele, 2500 snaps with your friend Lisa, and 1800 snaps with your friend Henry. Based on this data, in your friend’s solar system, Michele is your first closest friend which is Mercury, Lisa is your second closest friend which is Venus and Henry is your third closest friend which is Earth.

What is Snapchat and Snapchat Plus?
Snapchat is a software application through which you can share videos and images with your friends, family, and followers. This app can be used on Android devices, iOS devices, and tablets.
Its most significant feature is that when you upload a video or image or share it with a friend, it will disappear after a short while. Videos and images shared in this way are called ‘snaps.’
If you and your friend share snaps with each other daily, you will build a streak, which is displayed in your profile. If one day you or your friend doesn’t send a snap, the streak will break.
Note:
When Snapchat Plus was launched with new features, within the first six weeks, it gained over 1 million users.
